I will start.

When you write this in here it will help you commit. I am doing this so I will get my head going in the right directions. For me it is the 40+ Pro competitions at Shain's Council Bluffs Iowa show Sept. 26th. Hitting the gym hard now. You know the contest training not the offseason maintenance or even the Bulk up training.

Been dieting about 2 weeks and I am at 8% already. I have about 14 weeks to go. Should be able to drop about 1/2% a week. That would put me at 1%? Yeah right. Looking to get to 2% though. Close last time. It was 2.5 on a Lange Caliper.

Here is a little FYI : Quite a few years ago I went to KU's performance lab in Lawrence KS and did the Hydrostatic test (dunked in a tank) which is the most accurate. Immediately afterwards I did the Calipers and it was -1% to the Hydrostatic testing. So if you show 1% you are most likely 2% with the calipers. So I hate to burst some of our bubbles doing calipers that we have got down to say a good 3% contest fat level you were actually 4%. Just when you thought you did good too! LOL! Just don't tell anybody about this.

Good idea!
October 17th in Elk River, MN. It'll be my first show and It's about 15weeks out.
I hope to do female bodybuilding 40+, amature.
At 5'7.5" and 141.8 lbs. Hope to come in lean enough to compete. Trainer figures I'd be about 132lbs if 10%. I hope to go beyond that. working it hard, eating clean and getting lean!!

The Elk River show is an excellent entry level contest. Not a huge number of contestants... good choice!!

Arkansas Classic
August 15th.

Body fat is not low enough. I did not give myself enough time to prepare, plus I blew up to 14% at 16 weeks out. Will not win, but will show up and then prepare for next year.
Just being realistic.

Yes I am aware of that. That is the other reason I will NOT win my class.
Some of my friends and half my gym are competing in it so I am jumping in as well.
However, there have been a couple of guys I know win there class at this show and the NW Ar NPC that I know were natural. It was at smaller weight class and they were blessed with genetics that I do not have. But your right, I have been attending this show for years now and there will be alot of "extra enhancements". I am mostly doing for the experience and I am preparing as a natural so we will see.

I am looking forward to the Southern States next April and the Central Midwest. That will be about 18 months off for me which is too long. Can't wait to see the competitors at some of these bigger shows.--Brian Mauer

you can't be scared of the NPC. bodybuilding is about bettering yourself. you can't choose who you are up against anyway. Just be better than you were last time, and hope its good enough. I did the Mayhem in KC and took 4th, but the winner went on and got three national titles after, so i'm not mad, he was awsome.

I hope to do Jon's Liberty show in march. last year looked tough, but I've been making improvments. Besides, I need to look good for my wedding in May!

I guess two guys from the gym are going to the Elk River show too! So that's 3 of us novice/newbies competing in October.

I plan on competing in May at the Nutri-Sport Natural Iowa. Through trial and error I think I finally have my dieting down and my body is filling out. Win or lose though, I'll be there having fun.

That's the show I'm hitting in 2010, also! I am also planning on hitting the Nutri Sport Championships in Des Moines 2 weeks prior, as a warm up for the MN.
