Cori Great job again. And to all that competed! One thing that I noticed from a stance of being long time competitor and promoter was the overall conditioning was very good. It seems that more competitors lately deeper in the ranks are all getting dialed in better than 5 years ago. 10 years ago it seemed that only a handful of competitors may have had definition in there legs at a show and now it is common place to see complete classes with cut up legs. Bodyfat levels are looking to be on average for men at 5% and women at 8% or less now which is far better than as he mentioned 10 year ago .
One thing that I feel is still a problem though is posing, well of course maybe not Cori, LOL! but for allot of folks this really hurts them and I saw this at the Bluffs . Believe me this is not just at Shain's contest but as whole you really see maybe a few in each class that nail it. I see competitors time and again who I know either do not put their practice time in or are not coached right. It is like any sport. If you do not practice it, it will come back to bite you. Becky is all over me about it for every show always reminding to practice, practice.
I think the judgeing was good. Of course I should have place higher, LOL!! just kidding of course. We all think we should but I judge allot and really they judges get it right 99% of the time. I was 4th and my placing was spot on. Goes to show you I get no favortism. I walked away out of the money and way in the in the hole for the day with Entry, Tanning and all the expenses that go into this stuff like all of us but it is all worth it to me.
Honestly I would still compete Pro settle for a gift certificate to Papa Johns for 1st Place in a Pro Show. Money doesn't mean anything to me in this sport.
One thing that always kills me, that happened to me this time, where you walk off stage and the first thing you hear from your friends is, "You should have placed higher." I get this off and on, however not from Becky, believe me she is my worst critic. I realize after all these years that it is always an emotional thing with them and really not a trained eye. I have learned to just block it out and just wait to see for myself and it always comes out right. This is where you have to be humble and look at where you need to improve. It really comes back to you and not anyone else. All you can do is to leave no doubt the next time you compete.
Again congrats to all and keep hit'in the iron!
